This was a theatre design for the musical 'Into The Woods' by Stephen Sondheim.
Our concept revolved around the question, "How do we tell stories?" And so we looked at books, at scrolls, at newspapers, at pamphlets and art. Though there’s never one way to tell a story… the connecting thread we found was paper. Paper in all its glorious malleability. And so that’s what this became. A call back to thousands of years of stories and writing. Paper became the world, the clouds, the houses, even the pies and cookies on our tables.
