Escobar’s Hippos explores a world where nature quietly but relentlessly reclaims human excess. The scenic design leans into overgrowth, decay, and transformation. Ruined architecture softened by vines, domestic furniture with colorful cultural textiles, and spaces that shift between humor and unease. Inspired by Escobars abandoned estate, invasive ecosystems, and the surreal reality of hippos transforming beyond human control, the design treats the set as a space to set the stage for the new step of human evolution-- Hippos!
